    Privacy and security

    Light on the outside. Serious about your data.

    What you write about your relationship is about as personal as data gets. Here’s exactly how we protect it.

    • Encrypted with your own key

      Every note is encrypted with AES-256 using a key that belongs to you alone. A database leak on its own reveals nothing readable.

    • No one at Stroppable can read it

      Our own tools can’t unlock your notes, and every unlock is logged and audited.

    • Your partner sees patterns, not words

      Notes stay private to whoever wrote them. Summaries are shared only after you both approve them.

    • Our AI keeps nothing

      Notes are read only to make your Forecast, never stored by the AI provider and never used to train models.

    • Locked on your phone

      Lock the app with Face ID, fingerprint or a passcode. Encrypted in transit and at rest.

    • Delete means deleted

      Delete your account and your key is destroyed, so your notes become unreadable everywhere, backups included. Export everything any time.

    Why not end-to-end encrypted?

    Because your Forecast needs to read your notes for a moment to spot patterns. It happens inside an isolated system that no person can access. We’d rather tell you that than overclaim. You can pause Forecasts at any time, and then nothing is unlocked at all.

    Questions, answered

    Can my partner read my notes?

    No. Your notes are yours. The shared Forecast shows patterns and themes, never what you wrote, and you both approve it before it’s shared.

    How is my data protected?

    Notes are encrypted with a key that’s yours alone, no one at Stroppable can read them, and deleting your account destroys the key. See the privacy section above for the details.

    Is this therapy?

    No. It’s a gentle way to notice patterns. If things are hard, the app points you to proper support, and it never pretends to be a therapist.

    What does it cost?

    The app is free. Plus is a one-off purchase for extra features. No subscription.

    Can we write in different languages?

    Yes. Each of you writes in whatever language you like, even mixing languages, and each of you reads the Forecast in yours. Thirteen languages at launch, from Spanish and Arabic to Hindi, Japanese and Filipino.

    What if we break up?

    You can leave a group any time, and keep or delete your notes. Nobody gets told why.
